Evaluation of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) lines for drought tolerance in Kyrgyzstan

The study was carried out to explore drought stress indices in F4 hybrid generations of Triticum aestivum L. select tolerant lines for rainfed areas Kyrgyzstan. Wheat is the main food crop There are about 0.3 million ha allotted wheat, more than half these sown (0.2 ha) farming zones, where amount precipitation rarely exceeds 300-400 mm per year. conducted 2019 at experimental field Agricultural Faculty Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. Eighteen spring wheat and two released varieties (standard) were evaluated under irrigated non-irrigated conditions. results show that mean grain yield condition as compared non-stressed decreased by 51.72%. analysis correlation coefficient indicated productivity both conditions highly depends from their tolerance indexes (STI) (0.769 0.928). Tolerance index (TOL) susceptibility negatively correlated (-0.411 -0.813) with genotypes (YS). between stability (YSI) (YS) strongly positive (1.000). Based on provided analysis, Line-1, Line-3, Line-5, Line-12, Line-13, Line-14 Line-15 selected potential cultivate Kyrgyzstan can be used genetic resources improvement programs.
